Frank Pond loves to travel. Whether he is visiting a place down the road or heading to a far flung part of the globe, Frank is joyful and excited to be an explorer. For Frank, exploration is more than simply dropping in, taking a tour or ticking off a checklist of sights to see. He loves to dig in, feel the rhythm of a place and its people, eat locally and become a part of the place and not a casual observer. There are no tour buses on Frank’s itineraries and no limit to where he will travel. Some of his more interesting trips took him to places that most usually don’t go (North Korea, Iran) or are on the cutting edge of destinations (Namibia before Brad and Angelina and Malawi before Madonna). Good wine is always on the agenda as is having fun like a local. His favorite place changes often but he returns as often as he can to Southern Africa (Zambia, Botswana, South Africa), Italy (including a recent turn in new favorite Sicily), Brazil, New Zealand and anywhere that has great diving (Belize for instance). What’s next for Frank: a trip to Mayan Guatemala (hey, its 2012 and we all have heard about the Mayan Calendar) and some diving in Belize and he just finished booking a dream trip to West Africa for the Fall–Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Ghana, Sao Tome & Principe, Togo, Benin and Cameroon all await!!! Where are you going next?
