Progressive Pulse was one of the first to see the endearing “BearCity 2” and reported on it when it ran at the GLBT film festival circuit. We embraced its universal appeal that proves love comes in all shapes and sizes and that the film is not limited to an audience of gay bears (bigger hairy men) and their admirers.
“Even my three best straight female friends were enchanted by the film,” says Kevin.
The screening is done in conjunction with San Francisco’s Bear Weekend during Presidents’ Day. Bears, otters, cubs and the like will all be converging on San Francisco for movies, dancing, bar and club (and cub!) hopping as well as a night of Bearoke.
Kevin is doing the screening also to promote the Hotel Mark Twain’s special rate for bears. Besides writing for us and being the GLBT arts writer for examiner.com, Kevin is the resident ‘bear’ Sales Director at the Hotel Mark Twain. “We have a special rate for bears year round,” says Kevin, “and not just when there is a bear event or a beer bust in town.”
The evening of the screening, Kevin has also many giveaways, including a free night at the Hotel Mark Twain, DVD and Blu-Rays of “BearCity 2”, special discount codes to order “BearCity 2” products, Landmark Theatres movie passes and a gift certificate to Triptych Restaurant. Triptych is “known for their multi-flavored bottomless Mimosas and disco bathroom,” Kevin says.
The movie tickets are either free or $8. If you book a hotel room directly with Kevin for the bear weekend, he will provide a pair of complimentary movie tickets while supplies last. Email Kevin at email@example.com.
