Bebel Gilberto fuses beauty, backdrop and talent for new live DVD Photos: Patrick K. Sister

Bebel Gilberto performs in front of Sugar Loaf for live DVD

On December 5th, Bebel Gilberto chose the beautiful backdrop of Rio de Janeiro to shoot her upcoming live DVD. The free concert was shot in front of the Bebel Gilberto performs live in Brazil for new DVDinfamous Sugar Loaf and featured exquisite sunsets to accompany the 13 track set that the artist performed, drawing from her last four albums, plus a few surprises.  The show was produced by Kassin and Liminha. Scenography and Direction was by Gringo Cardia. Cardia is considered one of the most famous Scenographers and Lighting directors in Brazil. Judging by the shots below taken by our own, Patrick K. Sister, this is going to be a beautiful and visual live concert that we can’t wait to get our hands on.

The location was Arpoador, the original site for Circo Voador,  the place where Brazilian pop/rock 80’s scene emerged with bands like Paralamas do Sucesso, Barão Vermelho, Kid Abelha and others. Nowadays Circo Voador is at Lapa and holds all kinds of concerts from new names in Brazilian pop music to international bands like Franz Ferdinand.

Gilberto looked stunning in red and performed every song twice for the recording of the DVD.  The recording started at 6pm with the sun still up and went on until 10:35pm, which allowed a multitude of different lights from the beach to help light the stage. Check out the set list below and shots taken by Patrick K. Sister.
