Quetzal Guerrero – “Coiza Boa”

Quetzal Guerrero "Coiza Boa" Album ReviewQuetzal Guerrero is back with a new record, “Coiza Boa” (Good Thing) that infuses the beauty of Brazilian rhythms with soulful pop blendings. Guerrero brings his classically trained violin to several of the tracks adding even more spice to the pot. With plenty of percussion and dance elements to the project, Quetzal delivers a globally relevant contribution to the ever – evolving music arena. “Coiza Boa” plays like a live album with every listen. Avoiding using any synthesizers, drum machines or Autotune it’s refreshing to hear a young artist who avoids the trends and opts for solid real music. If the title track, “Coiza Boa” doesn’t’ get you grooving then you’ll need to check your pulse. Other standouts include, “Everything” which features his beautiful violin picks that are delicate alongside the strong piano chords. “I Got It” is an uplifting sexy number that builds to an infectious gem which is just one of the stellar tracks on this project. Guetzal plays with an eclectic mix of sounds from the Brazilian tinged, “Louco”, “Mundo Enganador” and “Samba do Cuale” to the more R&B/Soul tracks, “That Somethin”. “Take Me” flirts with Reggae while “Path I Take” is a beautiful ballad that is shines a light into this unguarded artist.  Check out our video interview above with Quetzal Guerrero.
