But Progressive Pulse knows him way back when. Well, back to last year.
We attended a performance last summer of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” at Boxcar Theatre. And even though it was an ensemble cast with many great performances, Brock was a standout. He blew the roof off the intimate theatre and, in an instant, a star was born.
Brock of course isn’t an overnight sensation. We sat down and talked with him about some of things from his past and a lot about his future, including a return to “Hedwig,” a Live at the Rrazz concert and why he’s turning Japanese. He also give us a little dirt…er…data…on “The X Factor.” Click on the video to get the inside scoop.
Our chat with Brock at the Hotel Mark Twain happened to be anniversary of the same week Billie Holiday put the hotel on the map when she was arrested there on Jan. 22, 1949, putting the hotel on the Top Ten Famous Hotel Rooms list. Maybe Brock too will make history himself.
But do mark your calendars. Brock tells of us his Feb. 20 return to “Hedwig” and how long he’ll be in the show. He also mentions his upcoming concert at the new Live at the Rrazz on Feb. 16. However, breaking news: the Rrazz concert has been cancelled but the show Brock planned to do will be coming soon to San Francisco. In the meantime, his fans can enjoy him at “Hedwig” and/or an after-show cabaret at the Boxcar Theatre on Feb. 22 and 23 and March 1 and 2. Tickets for the cabaret are $32.
