Whether singer Anna Rose is rocking out, singing the blues or inflecting poetry to one of her eleven new tracks off of her sophomore album, “Behold A Pale Horse”, it’s clear the singer is present, confident and in a good place. The clarity of Rose’s voice can be heard on a diverse pooling of 70’s inspired material. Inspiration from Little Feat to Tori Amos can be heard on the new album, but it’s all Rose who’s delivering a fresh Rock and Roll sound that’s a refreshing addition to music today. Stand out tracks include first single, and cover of Arcade Fire’s “Behold A Pale Horse”. The sparse stripped down version is haunting as it is seductive. The uplifting current single, “Beautiful World” is a perfect Summer antidote laced with uplifting rhythms, which should be a big hit. Other standouts include the lyrical and poetic, “Shoot All the Lights”, the bluesy, “Los Angeles” and the beautiful closing track, “When the Wind”.
