We met up with him at the Hotel Mark Twain to discuss how his roles at Left Coast Theatre Company have blossomed over the years, reaching its pinnacle in the company’s current production, “WTFamily,” running through April 25 at the Shelton Theatre.
Rodney “Rhoda” Taylor has made a mark on the San Francisco theatre scene.
Getting chummy with Taylor, and now calling him RodRho, we had a nice little chat about the origins of some of these original GLBT shorts and how he’s played many roles in the theatre company – from actor/actress to writer to director.
This time around, the showcase will spotlight on six different short plays – all dealing with GLBT families. RodRho talks about the one he wrote and directed, “Motherly Advice,” which features a bear chew toy in the form of Justin O’Kelly, who definitely will have appeal to daddy and muscle bear lovers in the audience.
RodRho also shares some of the other stories that highlight this season’s collection.
