Katya Leonovich’s Art & Fashion Unite for Spring 2016 at New York Fashion Week

Katya Leonovich Spring 2016

We’ve been following designer Katya Leonovich for the last several seasons embracing her feminine, yet architectural take on womenswear. For Spring 2016 at New York Fashion Week, Leonovich decided to mix things up and present her dress collection that was inspired by her paintings. She paired a model who stood before one of Leonovich’s paintings showing how art can inspire fashion firsthand. The collection entitled “Bisected Beauty” aims to communicate every woman’s natural bisection according to Katya. “The characteristics we strive to maintain, and those which we keep locked away; the sinner and the saint, the opposite sides of the spectrum that regardless of how they are depicted, will always remain parallel.”

Watch our footage of the Katya Leonovich presentation below, as well as our interview with the designer and Nene Leakes.
