Rubin Singer debuted his mind blowing Spring 2017 collection for New York Fashion Week in a truly captivating and brilliant presentation that took the route of an installation art exhibit versus a traditional runway show, or even a presentation featuring live models. The all-day installation allowed a larger pooling of press, buyers and insiders the chance to absorb the collection, as opposed to traditional fashion show productions. The collection entitled, “Into the Deep” took on an outer galactic solar system motif, with atmospheric dreamscape music that hummed in the background. Gowns were displayed on risers that seemed to have been lit by Broadway’s finest. Singer’s subjects, the fashion, elevated the experience showing the designer’s expansive vision and inventive use of new materials and fabrics. “The depth and vast expanse of the universe enraptures me. I wanted to create a collection that captures this otherworldliness and the galactic beauty that lives in my mind’s eye. ‘Into the deep’ is an exploration of new proportions, new materials and a voyage to a new world,” says Singer.
