Trannys Sparkled in Rainy Red Carpet Premiere for “Baby Jane?” A Progressive Pulse Exclusive by Kevin M. Thomas

It rained cats and trannys Tuesday night in San Francisco but the drag-studded soggy Red Carpet World Premiere of the movie “Baby Jane?” still brought the San Francisco icons the marquee promised.

Progressive Pulse was proud to be the exclusive Red Carpet media source and we met the stars one and all.

We literally pulled director/writer Billy Clift from the crowd and talked to him about the movie’s future runs in Palm Springs, Los Angeles and New York. Click on the video to see what Clift had to say, who looked awfully dapper in his formal dress tails with sexy red lining.

Matthew Martin certainly played the Bette Davis part to the hilt on the Red Carpet, grabbing a Coke and a smoke and embodying everything that is Bette Davis. He had plenty to say as well and dazzled in a replica of Davis’ famous “All About Eve” dress.

Drag legend Heklina also found a moment to talk with us and her throwback to the 1960s hand beaded mini-dress was a sparkle even in the rain. But there was a moment that I threatened to yank the wig right off her head, so you better check out the video to see what brought this on.

But stealing the show on the Red Carpet was J. Conrad Frank who plays the Joan Crawford role in this drag remake. He was a vision of old Hollywood with a champagne gown that shimmered from head to toe. The slit up the side showcased Frank’s sexy legs that go on for days. His perfectly made up face and flawless hair was very reminiscent of the lifestyles of the rich and famous from TV shows like “Dynasty.”

“Baby Jane?” is certainly a movie that should be at the top of your list. So keep your eye out for it when it comes to your city. If you’re in a more rural area that doesn’t celebrate or embrace diversity, the movie will be available on DVD this summer.
